A short history, rooted in the 19th century.
In the early 2000's tool manufacturer Hultafors, which had started operations as a folding rule manufacturer back in 1883, accelerated its on-going expansion with a number of acquisitions.
In 2005 Swedish ladder manufacturer Wibe Ladders was acquired, and a year later Swedish work-wear company Snickers Workwear was added to the portfolio. The acquisition of Snickers Workwear not only gave Hultafors the possibility of growing in the European market, it also contributed to the formation of the Hultafors Group.
So in 2006 Hultafors Group is created as an umbrella group for Hultafors, Wibe Ladders and Snickers Workwear. Since then the Hultafors Group has expanded both through organic growth and numerous acquisitions. For example British tape measure manufacturer Fisco Tools in 2008, as well as the franchise companies for Snickers Workwear in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Great Britain the very same year.
In 2011 Hultafors Group became Hultafors Group AB and thus the parent company owning Hultafors, Wibe Ladders and Snickers Workwear. Hultafors Group AB is in turn a business area wholly owned by Swedish Investment AB Latour.
